1. Pre-stretched gessoed canvas, 11 x 14" or smaller (one or two)
2. Good quality oiul paints, tube, best you can afford:
White
Cadmium Yellow Light
Cadmium Orange
Cadmium Red Light
Alizarin Crimson
Yellow Ochre
Burnt Umber
Ultramarine Blue
Sap Green
Purchasing a set is fine and might save you money. Avoid those with "hue" in the name, as they are made with less pigment and don't perform as well.
3. One or two wide mouth jars with lids
4. Oder free turpentine or mineral spirits.
5. Three or more paint brushes: small, medium, large in filber or flat shape, natural bristles
6. Paper towels or rags (plenty!)
7. Disposable paper palette pad--bigger the better
8. One or two arrow rounded tip metal palette knives--small and medium
