- Pencil
- White eraser
- Paper towels
- Micron 01 or 02 black pen
- Masking tape
- 140 or 300 lb. Cold press Arches watercolor paper (sold at Ziegler’s, Michaels, Hobby Lobby by a 20”x30” sheet. If you already have a pad—bring that)
- Foam board (standard size or larger than 10”x15”), cardboard, or wood board—a little larger than the paper. Used board is fine.
- Palette: White Styrofoam egg cartons or plates, white dinner plate, store bought palette with wells, OR white butcher’s tray.
- Brushes: One ¾ inch nylon flat, one #6 or #8 round and one #1 round—make sure that the brush has spring to it and avoid cheap craft brushes! Feel free to bring the brushes you already have.
- Watercolor Paints: Bring a pan set of paints or tube paints. If using tube paints bring what you already have or: Ultramarine, Cobalt Blue, Alizarin Crimson and Cadmium Red Medium, Hooker’s or Sap Green, and choose one or two yellows: Gamboge, Indian, Cadmium Yellow Medium or Azo Yellow.
MIXED MEDIA OPTIONS: These are optional. Teacher will have some of these items with her for classroom use. Acrylic gloss medium, oil pastels, unusual paper, Prismacolor pencils, watercolor pencils, colored or black inks, thin string (cotton or jute) metallic gold leafing pens, etc., glass beads, gauze, etc. If you have any of these at home, feel free to bring them—we may or may not use them.
